The terms, in plain words
Joining the Mob means agreeing to the points below. They're short, they're fair, and they exist so that every evening stays pleasant for everyone.
What you're signing up for
What these terms cover
These terms cover the website and the evenings we run at the club room on Lyttleton Street. By ticking the box on the joining form, or by turning up and playing, you agree to them. If you don't agree, you're still welcome to read the site, but we'd ask you not to join. We may update the terms from time to time, and the schedule below says how members are told.
What membership means
Membership is a place on the roster and a say in how the Mob runs. It begins when a volunteer confirms your details and ends when you tell us you're leaving, when you've been away a full year, or when you're removed under the rules. You can rejoin whenever you like, and a past removal never follows you around forever unless it was serious.
No money, now or later
Nothing costs anything. There's no joining fee, no table charge, no league entry fee and no charge for borrowing a box. We don't take payments or donations, and a league winner receives a name on a plaque, nothing more. If anyone asks you for money in the Mob's name, please tell a volunteer straight away, because it isn't us. Members may not sell anything to each other at the hub either, so the room stays a place for playing.
Which law applies
Australian law governs these terms. Any disagreement we can't settle over a cup of tea is, in the first place, a matter for the founder to hear.
Only for adults
The Mob is for people aged 18 and over. We ask you to confirm your age when you join, and we may ask to see photo ID at your first visit. Anyone found to be younger is asked to leave and their details are deleted.
Taking part at your own risk
You play at your own risk and look after your own belongings. We take care of the room, the heaters and the shelf, but we can't be responsible for lost property or an accident that nobody could have foreseen. Nothing here takes away rights you have under Australian consumer law.
