Getting there
Three ways to arrive
By train or bus
Castlemaine has a railway station and a regional bus service. Check the timetable for the day, and give yourself a few minutes to walk into town from the stop. Services thin out on Sundays, so plan the trip home as well.
By car
Park on Lyttleton Street or the side streets nearby, and read the signs, as limits vary along the block. Please keep driveways clear and leave quietly at the end of the night, because the neighbours have been very patient with us. Winter evenings can be frosty, so allow time to scrape the windscreen.
On foot or by bike
Most of our regulars live close enough to walk. There's a rail by the front window for bikes, and the back door opens onto a small yard if you need to wheel one in.
If it's your first time
Ring or message beforehand if you'd like someone to wait at the door. We'll find a seat, a teacher and a cup of tea, and nobody will ask why you were nervous. Most of us were, once.
